Atlas of Little Lives: Being and Becoming is a body of photographs taken between 2012-2025 from the intimate vantage of a mother and photographer. Shot unposed on black‑and‑white medium‑format film (Mamiya 7II) and printed in the darkroom, these images document my 4 children in the sensitive period between ages two and nine—when one is fully present in the world yet simultaneously lacking self consciousness. An odyssey across countries on 4 continents, these photographs map small human moments within new landscapes, languages, and cultures, discovering quiet serendipity and everyday magic that is at once ordinary and extraordinary. This moment in time is intimately personal, yet a fragment of the universal experience of childhood. The project ended for each child when the camera began to induce performance; what remains is a record of honest presence, adventure—large and small—and the luminous becoming of childhood.
