Born in New York City, I grew up between pastoral Ontario and New York. From the age of 18 I was itching to escape what I knew and discover the unknown. At 18 I traveled to Brazil to work in a preschool in the favelas in Salvador do Bahia over the summer.  I studied urban development and anthropology while traveling through the Dominican Republic the following year before moving to the north of Thailand to teach English in a rural village where I lived with the local farmers. I brought a camera with me and began taking pictures.

I studied, worked, and traveled in alternating periods during the time most of my friends completed 4 years of college, working at the International Center of Photography and as a studio assistant and printer for Arthur Elgort, among other forays.

At 22 I moved to Buenos Aires, and then to northern Brazil, with my boyfriend who became my partner in life, in all our adventures to come. The next year, in New York City, I produced and participated in photography exhibitions in my early 20s, started a company with my partner, and had twins. As a family, we moved to San Francisco, grew our company, and had another baby.

In 2016, we left “normal” life and embarked upon a planned year of discovery: Rome — Chamonix — Kyoto. It turned out that was just the beginning. The next year we based ourselves in Mallorca with a winter season exploring Chilean Patagonia. We adapted, our kids went to school, we worked, and traveled —I continued taking pictures.

We moved to Aspen in 2019, and settled down for a couple years, and our fourth child was born. Yet by 2022 we again picked up in search of a new horizon. Descending over Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, we arrived in Arusha, Tanzania, ready once again to delve into a whole new set of challenges on this foreign continent, and certainly to discover new wonders.

Currently, I am based between Aspen and New York. I shoot with a Mamiya 7ii and I am a master printer in the darkroom.
